Seating:
400 seated in the Church.
Can fit 9 people per pew in the Church.
The first 6 pews (each side) in the Church are a different style of pews, they also seat 9. There are some pews on the wings at the front of the Church which only seem to fill for large funerals, these are good for prams and wheelchairs to keep them out of the Church aisle.
The Marian Room can be set up with a screen and visual link to fit another 80 people.
Entrance / Exit:
Main entrance with hearse parked outside.
Hearse is not undercover.
There are no steps to bring the coffin out, coffin can be wheeled all the way to the hearse.
The aisle of the Church is not very wide and some people struggle to carry the coffin out when carrying by the handles.
Door ways are tall enough for a shoulder carry.
There is a second entrance which takes you into the Marian Room, we usually have someone outside this door to encourage people to walk around to the main front doors.
Parking:
Family parking reserved in front of Church.
Side of street depends on which cemetery, if Warragul Cemetery it is on the Church side facing up Witton Street, if Gulwarra Heights it is the opposite side facing down Witton Street.
There is space for two cars in the Church grounds, they can drive or reverse in.
Church car park for 30 cars behind the Church and accessed via Bowen Street.
Audio/Visual:
Sound system is good, we take an ipad to play recorded music and a laptop to play photo tribute.
The Church have a projector and screen but it is directly below a large downlight and the projector has faded so we usually set up our own projector and screen.
Catering:
The Marian Room of the Church is available for small wakes, it does not have an oven so hot food is not possible unless the caterer can take a pie oven or air fryer.
There is a TV screen that a USB can be plugged into to play a photo tribute loop.
There is no church group who look after catering so an external caterer would need to be arranged.
Booking for a Funeral
Contact the Parish Office is Mon-Fri between 9-3 or call the Priest if outside these times to discuss and confirm the day/time of funeral.
We provide the family with the book of prayers and readings and work sheet to prepare the funeral service/Mass. The family return the completed sheet to us so that we can prepare the booklet. We need to forward a copy of the booklet to the Priest for approval. Father will contact the family and will meet with them.
